Repairing the Existing Basement
Preparing the space for updated finishes.

The work included:
- Selective demolition and repairs to damaged wall areas.
- New lighting throughout the basement.
- Replacement ceiling tiles.
- New luxury vinyl plank flooring.
- Painting of walls and trim.
- New cabinets with butcher block countertops and a waterfall edge.
- A customized movable bookshelf concealing utility components.
- Stair updates with new LVP flooring, a new handrail, and painting.
Before and after
From existing finishes to a more usable basement.
Side-by-side views show the change in the stair-side utility area and the main room.

Butcher Block and New Cabinetry
Warm materials at the cabinet area.
New cabinets provide enclosed storage beneath a butcher block countertop. The wood surface continues down one side in a waterfall detail, adding warmth and a finished edge to the cabinet area.

Custom Storage That Keeps Utilities Accessible
Storage designed around what needs to stay reachable.
The water shutoff and sewer line needed to remain accessible while fitting into the finished space.
We customized a bookshelf to conceal these components and provide usable storage. Wheels allow the bookshelf to move aside when utility access is needed, a practical solution built around the existing basement.
A Refreshed Staircase and Updated Lighting
Coordinated details from the stairs up.
The staircase received new LVP flooring, a new handrail, and fresh paint to coordinate with the renovation.
New ceiling lights and wall sconces brighten the basement, while colored lighting adds another look to the space.
